-Tutorial-
Dragon’s Abyss is a text-based roguelike game. Your objective is to make it to floor 100 where you must defeat a dragon after which you have won the game.
You will be going down a series of floors which are different for each game. There are two types of floors you will encounter: ones with loot and ones with monsters.
When you come across a floor with loot, your character will find an item. Your character will automatically take the item if it’s better than what they already have.
When you come across a floor with a monster, you have three options: Attack, Sneak, or Heal. If you choose Attack, the battle will play out automatically. If you win, you will get an upgrade point. If you lose, you must start the game over from floor 1. If you choose Sneak, you will have a percent chance of sneaking pass a monster which is based on your Sneak stat. If you sneak successfully, you won’t have to fight that monster. If your sneak fails, the monster will get to attack first during the first turn, regardless of your Speed stat. If you choose Heal, your character will drink the HP potion they have in their inventory. You can only Heal if you have a potion in your inventory and your current HP is below your max HP.
Your character has 5 stats: HP, Attack, Speed, Defense, and Sneak. HP is your max hit points. You lose the game when your HP reaches zero. Attack is how much damage you deal. Speed is how fast you are. If your speed is higher than your opponent’s, you attack first each turn. Defense is what percentage of reduction you get from incoming attacks. Sneak is what percent chance you have at successfully sneaking. The Defense stat caps at 60 points. The Sneak stat caps at 90 points.
Your character has 5 inventory slots: weapon, helmet, armor, shield, and potion. Weapons will increase your Attack stat. Helmets and armors will increase your Defense stat. Shields give you a percent chance of completely blocking an attack during each turn. Potions allow you to heal before battle. Your character can only carry one of each inventory item.
Your equipment’s stats are added to your base stats during battle.
You are now ready to start the game. The first thing you will do is assign 50 points to your base stats. Click ‘Proceed’ to begin.
